The Top Burbank Charities for Giving Back This Holiday Season

At the Brad Korb Real Estate Group, we believe that the people who give back are the foundation of a great community. It’s one of the reasons we regularly make donations, host events and fundraisers, and in other ways contribute to a wealth of local charities and recreation programs. And this holiday season, we want to encourage you to give back, too!

Here are some top Burbank charities who need your help this holiday.

The Boys and Girls Club of Burbank

This fantastic organization is one of our favorites to support. For almost 20 years, the Boys and Girls Club or Burbank and the Greater East Valley has supported over 1,500 children through a variety of programs, events, and education. Want to help nurture children in the LA community? You can give back with a monetary donation, or join their volunteer team to get involved directly.

Burbank Temporary Aid Center

Sometimes even the sturdiest people need a hand getting back on their feet when a sudden financial crisis bestows unimaginable hardship, and that’s when the Burbank Temporary Aid Center steps in. There are thousands of individuals and families in the Burbank area in need of assistance or support—a meal, a shower, a place to spend a night—just until they can get back on their feet. BTAC supports those experiencing poverty, senior citizens, homeless, and victims of crimes with short-term emergency assistance.

Want to give back? Monetary gifts are always welcome, as are food pantry donations. If you’d rather give the gift of time, there are a number of volunteer opportunities available that range from client intake to pantry stocking.

Joslyn Adult Center

What happens to aging adults who don’t have children, a spouse, or anyone to care for them? The Joslyn Adult Center strives to provide answers for this question, to offer aid, education, and social interaction to these adults ages 55+. The Center offers a variety of recreational, educational, nutritional, and assistance programs designed to better the lives of senior citizens in the Burbank community.

Want to contribute? Monetary donations are always welcome and are tax deductible.

Kids Community Dental Clinic

Sadly, not all families have the finances to afford proper dental care for their children. The Kids Community Dental Clinic strives to improve the oral health of children from low-income families through preventative treatments and education, as well as quality procedures.

If you’d like to help, you can donate to the Richard Marias Memorial Fund. Donations of toothbrushes, toys, and prizes are always welcome, too. There are also a number of volunteer opportunities, including those for dentists and dental assistants, administrative assistants, and aids at health fairs and school screenings.

Burbank Kiwanis Club

The Kiwanis Club of Burbank is dedicated to serving the Burbank community and annually supports over 80 various projects throughout the area. Now in their 97th year and comprised entirely of volunteers, the Kiwanis Club is the largest service organization in the city of Burbank. Some of the projects supported by the Club include various school programs and events, youth scholarships, the Burbank YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, nutrition programs for seniors, Kiwanis Cares About Children, and many more.

Want to lend a hand? Members of every age meet over lunch every Wednesday to plan projects, connect with other members and the community, and discuss local organizations most in need of help. Contact the club to find out how to become a member.
